After the successful run of the exhibition of reworked photographs that formed part of the Real to Surreal series, the Siddhartha Art Gallery is now displaying works by three artists, under the Parallel Journeys collection. The new exhibit—featuring pieces by Sunila Bajracharya, Binod Pradhan and Asha Dongol—was inaugurated by Dr Laurie Ann Vasily, executive director of USEF Nepal, at a programme on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta Thapa, the gallery’s director, felicitated the artists on their efforts, and deemed their “creative community” a distinctive move forward insofar as Nepali art was concerned. All three floors of the gallery have been given over to the artists’ creations—while Bajracharya touches upon the female form in her sculptures, Pradhan delves into motifs of temples in his works, while Dongol’s paintings appear to be meditations on ecology and nature.
Parallel Journeys will remain on display until February 8
