Traffic and parking are the major challenges. The cost of living is also comparatively high.

Marathahalli

Marathahalli is a fast-paced, major commercial and residential hub in East Bangalore. It bridges the city’s major IT corridors, making it a prime area for coaching and internships.

Pros

Compared to other areas, Marathahalli offers affordable housing. It is also well known for specialised training centres for students.

Cons

The traffic can be a problem in major areas. Irregular garbage collection and poor drainage are identified as significant factors in declining hygiene.

Yelahanka

Yelahanka is situated in north Bangalore, near Kempegowda International Airport. Once a quieter suburb, it has developed rapidly in recent years and is connected to the city centre by suburban rail and BMTC buses.

Pros

Yelahanka is home to institutions such as REVA University, making it a convenient and affordable option for students enrolled there. Rents for shared flats and PGs are generally lower than in central Bangalore.

Cons

Students studying in central Bangalore may find commuting time-consuming.

Yeshwanthpur

Yeshwanthpur is a northwest locality in Bangalore. The area is close to tech hubs such as Manyata Tech Park. The area is also known for its affordability.

Pros

Yeshwanthpur is well-connected via its large railway station and metro services, making transportation easier. Wholesale farm markets make shopping convenient.

Cons

The locality can be noisy due to ongoing industrial projects.

Banashankari

Banashankari, the largest residential locality in Bangalore, spans from the South to the West of the city. It also consists of many green spaces and parks. This area is known for a variety of budget-friendly housing options.

Pros

The locality’s extensive public transport network connects it to other parts of Bangalore, making commuting convenient for students.

Cons

Banashankari can be noisy due to busy markets and growing industrialisation.
