On Saturday evening, Dr Ramesh Singh Bhandari, a gastrointestinal surgeon from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj, took to the stage at LOD (Lord of the Drinks) in Thamel for a solo concert.

The event, titled ‘When Profession Meets Passion, Magic Happens’, featured Bhandari backed by guitarist Dev Lama and musician Roshan Shrestha.

The concert opened with his song ‘Nilo Aakash’ and lasted about two hours, during which he performed 18 songs, including seven of his own compositions.

A liver-transplant specialist by day, Bhandari said the performance was “a completely different experience” from his medical work. “I wanted to keep the passion alive beyond my profession,” he added, reflecting on his reason for performing.

Over his 18 years in medicine, Dr Bhandari has released several songs such as ‘Sakiyena’, ‘Dhanyabad’, ‘Kasari Bhanu’, ‘Timro Nai Maya’, and ‘Banchha Namuna Nepal’.
