The French Embassy in Nepal and the Alliance Française inaugurated a new cultural space, the Micro-Folie, at the Alliance Française in Pulchowk on Friday.
The project, supported by the French Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette, involves twelve partner institutions, including the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Château de Versailles, and the Opéra national de Paris. The platform is a multi-activity space that offers access to over 5,000 digitised artworks from various museums and cultural centres.
Speaking at the event, French Ambassador to Nepal Virginie Corteval said, “We hope that people of all generations in Nepal will take advantage of this unique opportunity to immerse themselves in art.”
Centred around a Digital Museum, the platform offers high-definition displays of artworks across fine arts, architecture, and live performance, aiming to make art accessible to a broader audience.
Two weekly sessions will be held at the Alliance Française for the public, free of charge. Families, schools, and community groups can participate, and group bookings are available through [email protected].
