The US–Nepal Gastronomy Chefs Association is hosting the ‘US-Nepal Gastronomy Exchange 2025’ this November, aiming to foster cultural and culinary exchange between Nepal and the United States. The event will feature two main segments—the Kathmandu Gala Dinner, titled ‘La Grande Bhoj,’ on November 9 at Aloft Kathmandu, Thamel, and the ‘Everest Cookout’ on November 11 at the Everest View Hotel, Namche Bazaar.
According to organiser Spundun Lama, the Exchange promotes Nepal’s food heritage while encouraging collaboration among chefs, farmers, and emerging culinary professionals. “This Exchange is not only about cuisine—it’s about culture, sustainability, and global friendship,” Lama said.
‘La Grande Bhoj’ will begin at 7 pm and features a seven-course meal with drink pairings prepared by Michelin-starred chefs and MasterChef personalities from the United States and France, alongside Nepali culinary experts. The ‘Everest Cookout’ will see selected chefs and partners cooking together at high altitude, highlighting Nepal’s ingredients and regional diversity against the Himalayan landscape.
The participation fee for the Gala Dinner is set at Rs20,000 per person. The event marks a step toward positioning Nepal’s culinary scene within broader international conversations about food, culture, and sustainability.
