Post Report
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Film Development Board signed an agreement on Friday for a government grant of Rs30 million to support the ongoing construction of the ‘Cinepa’ studio in Banepa.
The agreement was signed by the ministry’s undersecretary Ram Krishna Aryal and Film Development Board chairperson Dinesh DC. The grant aims to strengthen the physical infrastructure of the Nepali film industry by helping establish a modern studio equipped with facilities for cinematography, sound recording, editing and visual effects.
According to officials, the studio is expected to provide technical resources for filmmakers within the country, reducing the need to rely on foreign production facilities. Once completed, the project is expected to offer a dedicated production space for domestic film projects and contribute to the long-term development of Nepal’s film sector.
