Kunj to host week-long art exhibit
‘In the Shelter of Nature’ will run until September 28 alongside workshops.
Post Report
Kunj is organising its second exhibit, ‘In the Shelter of Nature’ by artist Anna Kumari Dhakal, from September 20 to 28 at Kundalini Ayurveda, Bakhundol, Lalitpur. This is Kunj’s first week-long exhibition.
The exhibit brings together Dhakal’s paintings, which reflect her memories and imagination of natural landscapes. A self-taught artist, she began rediscovering her practice during the pandemic. The works are presented in three series—Earth’s Reverie, Radiance of Serenity, and Vessels of Bloom—and explore mountains, lakeside temples, and floral motifs.
Regarding the exhibition, organising team member Pragya Gautam said, “At Kunj, we believe art belongs to culture and culture belongs to community. In the community, we find cause. To demonstrate the beauty of nature, we’re coming with an exhibition that envisions imagination transforming into sustainability.”
Kunj is hosting additional activities alongside the exhibition. On September 26, a meet-and-greet with Dhakal is scheduled. The artist will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the families of Gen Z revolution martyrs. A workshop, ‘Painting for Peace,’ will also take place on two days with art and school students for Rs1,000. Another open workshop will be held during the week for those who register through social media.
The exhibition runs daily from 10 am to 7 pm.
