National Music Awards to be held on July 12
The annual event will present 15 award categories and feature 10 performances.

The much-anticipated National Music Awards 2081, organised by Radio Kantipur, will take place on July 12 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center. The event will feature 15 award categories and 10 major performances, showcasing the vibrancy and diversity of Nepal’s evolving music scene.
The show will present live acts from some of the industry’s popular figures, including Swoopna Suman, Durgesh Thapa, Asmita Adhikari, Eleena Chauhan, Pashupati Sharma, Kuma Sagar, Sushant Ghimire, and Wangden Sherpa. Dance acts from Cartoonz Crew and the duo Sundar Khanal and Suzta Shrestha are also set to energise the stage.
The venue will open to the public at 12 pm, and the programme will begin at 2 pm. Food courts will be available on-site for attendees. Tickets are priced at Rs1,500 and can be purchased online through eSewa.
Simran Shrestha, corporate manager at Kantipur Media Group, described the event as an essential platform for recognition. She explained that the focus ranges from overall arrangements to the venue, with particular attention to the red carpet experience as a part of the formal welcome for the artists.
According to her, ‘‘The industry deserves more spaces for acknowledgement and appreciation across all genres. As a media house, we are committed to elevating this art form. Through honours like the Lifetime Achievement Award, we pay tribute to those who have shaped our musical legacy while promoting today’s emerging and established talents.’’
The awards will also include the categories that recognise the work of song composers, producers, and others involved in music production. In addition to vocalists, there will be awards for Best New Singer, Best Lyricist, Best Music Director, and genre-specific recognitions for Best Male and Female Singers in pop, modern, folk, and other musical styles.
The event is organised in partnership with Red Bull, Sanima Bank, and Honda, and supported by various sponsors, including Reliable Life Insurance, Sannima Reliance Life Insurance, Nyano, Rathicol, Nepato5, and DAV College.
