Acting workshop at Ek Theatre Nepal
The workshop starts on February 27, and the application process is underway.
Post Report
Ek Theatre Nepal is set to organise a two-month-long intensive acting workshop for individuals interested in acting.
The workshop is scheduled to commence on February 27, and the application process is currently underway. According to the workshop coordinator, Bedana Rai, the selection process for participants is in progress. “We have observed that many young individuals interested in acting often feel discouraged due to the absence of proper learning platforms. This workshop aims to address that issue,” Rai stated. “We are in the final phase of collecting applications, and once that is completed, we will finalise the participants and begin the workshop.”
Anil Subba, the founder of Ek Theatre Nepal, mentioned that the organisation plans to conduct regular workshops and training programmes in acting and writing in the future. “This is just the beginning. We aim to continue these initiatives regularly,” Subba said.
The workshop will run for four hours daily. It will feature training from industry professionals, including director Sunil Pokharel, director and actress Pashupati Rai, artist Lunibha Tuladhar, director Kiran Chamling, director and actor Praveen Khatiwada, director Anil Subba, and artist Rupesh Lama, among others.
The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including the fundamentals of acting, Indigenous music and dance, history of acting, movement, acrobatics, voice and speech, gender violence and theatre education, characterisation, scene development and improvisation, performance, direction, yoga, and body movement. Additionally, experienced actors and industry experts will be invited as guest lecturers to share their insights and expertise.
Interested participants can apply online, via email, or directly by visiting the Ek Theater Nepal office.
