The Meteorological Forecasting Division said monsoon winds continue to affect the country, with the monsoon trough positioned near its average location. As a result, most parts of Nepal are likely to witness rain today.

According to the Division’s latest forecast, light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected across many areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. A few places in Madhesh Province may also see brief showers.

The Division has warned of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim. High-hill and mountainous areas may also receive light to moderate rain or snowfall.

Cloudy conditions will persist throughout the day and night. Tonight, heavy to very heavy rain is also likely in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
