Kathmandu ready to welcome Qatar’s Emir

Preparations are underway in the Capital for the arrival of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Welcomes gates have been constructed at different places while flags of Nepal and Qatar have been placed at major thoroughfares.

The Emir, who is arriving in Kathmandu later today on a two-day visit, will be received by President Ramchandra Paudel at the Kathmandu airport, following which the emir will call on President Paudel at the President’s Office. The two leaders will then head to Hotel Soaltee for a state banquet hosted by the President in honour of the state guest.
The emir will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday. Following the talks, both leaders will witness the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
