Syafrubesi is among the settlements in Rasuwa devastated by the Bhotekoshi flood. Much of the settlement’s homes and hotels were swept away, leaving extensive damage in the area.

Road access remains difficult beyond a stretch of about five kilometres from Dhunche. The Trishuli river damaged the Pasang Lhamu Highway, cutting off access to Syafrubesi and other affected areas.

The disruption has made it difficult for authorities to carry out relief and rescue operations, as well as searches for people who remain missing.

Residents and relatives continue to report family members unaccounted for. As the days pass, hopes of finding those missing alive are fading, while concerns are growing that some bodies may never be recovered.

According to Brigadier General Ujjwal Bikram Rana of the Shree Shreenath Battalion in Rasuwa, personnel from the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been deployed continuously in the affected areas since the day of the flood for rescue, relief and search operations.

Security forces continue to search for missing people and carry out rescue operations in Syafrubesi and other affected areas. Authorities are also still assessing the full extent of the flood damage and searching for those who remain unaccounted for.
