A worker found dead near his room in Kalimati vegetable market on Wednesday morning was murdered by his own colleagues, police said.

According to police, 41-year-old Ram Krishna Dahal, who worked in the vegetable market, was allegedly killed by four of his fellow workers. His body was discovered with injuries to the head and other parts of the body. Locals informed the police after finding the body near his room.

An investigation by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Kathmandu Police revealed that his colleagues allegedly beat him to death. Police have arrested four suspects, including Buddha Lama, who was taken into custody while undergoing treatment at Nepal Medical College, Jorpati.

The five workers, employed through a contractor, worked in the Kalimati market during the day and stayed together, police said.
