Police raid call centre in Tinkune run by Chinese operator with the involvement of two indian citizen

Police on Monday raided a call centre in Tinkune following a tipoff of nefarious activities being carried out in the call centre.
The call centre was being run by a Chinese national, said police.
A team of police deployed by City Police and Police Circle, New Baneshwor raided the call centre. Police have booked two Indian nationals—male and female—and 33 Nepalis (six female and 27 male operators) from a rented house in Tinkune from where the call centre was being run.
Senior Superintendent Bharat Bohara at Kathmandu Police Range Kathmandu said the call centre was found running scams to dupe people.
“We have confiscated all the documents and are investigating,” said Bohara.
Deputy Inspector General Tek Prasad Rai, also the central spokesperson of Nepal Police said police had been closely observing the call centre for the past two months following information from locals.
“We are yet to find out the full detail of its operation model, ” said Rai.
