Government has declared a public holiday on Christmas following intense pressure from the Christian community.

Deputy Prime Minister Bimalendra Nidhi's press advisor Ramji Dahal confirmed the holiday on Sunday for the festival.

Erstwhile KP Sharma Oli-led government had withdrawn the decision to provide public holiday on Christmas. The festival is being celebrated on Sunday.
