Nepal appoints consul in Russia’s St Petersburg
The government has appointed Alexander V Terentev as Honorary Consul of Nepal for Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The government has appointed Alexander V Terentev as Honorary Consul of Nepal for Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Terentev is an eminent Russian businessman, a hotelier and a good friend of Nepal, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that Nepali Ambassador to Russia Ravi Mohan Sapkota ‘Kopila’ inaugurated the Office of the Honorary Consul of Nepal in Saint Petersburg on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sapkota said the opening of the office in Saint Petersburg has added another brick to the Nepal-Russia relations, the statement reads. As well as increasing the number of Russian tourists to Nepal, it will create new avenues of trade and investment, he added.
Vladimir V Zapevalov, representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saint Petersburg, welcomed Nepal’s move and congratulated Terentev on his appointment. Terentev thanked the government of Nepal for entrusting him with the responsibility and committed to work for the betterment of Nepal and Nepalis.
