Building equipment distributed in quake-hit conservation areas
More than two dozen villages in both these conservation areas are set to benefit from the support.Under the urgent relief and rehabilitation support, the NTNC authorities have provided equipment such as hammers, spades, axes, blades, plastic label pipes, iron nails, zinc sheets and wires, among others as demanded by the locals living in and around the conservation areas in the quake-hit districts.
According to Govinda Gajurel, member secretary of NTNC, the authorities handed over the necessary equipment to the local communities in Manaslu Conservation Area Project in Gorkha district and Gaurishankar Conservation Area spread over Dolakha, Ramechap and Sindupalchok districts.
More than two dozen villages in both these conservation areas are set to benefit from the support. NTNC has provided 3 to 9 sets of building equipment in each village depending on the size and population of the particular village.
NTNC has further donated 18 sets of heavy equipment such as grinding hammer and rock cutting axes, among others, to the local communities to repair and maintain the damaged trails in famous trekking routes in the affected regions.
