Birbhan Singh Mahata, 76, of ward 1 in Naugad Rural Municipality-1, was found dead eight days after leaving his home.

His family launched a search after Mahata, who went to the forest to collect reed plants on February 18, did not return. His body was discovered on Wednesday at a cliff in the Satyadi area.

According to the District Police Office, his relatives notified the authorities about Mahata’s disappearance. After an extensive search by police and locals, his body was found on Wednesday, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dahal.
