Police on Thursday arrested a man in Darchula on charge of murdering his wife.

Sixty-two-year-old Krishna Dhami injured three people, including his 56-year-old wife Parvati, after attacking them with a hoe in Dhamigaun of Dilashaini Rural Municipality-7.

Parvati died on the way to the local health post, police said.

According to local Ram Singh Dhami, 29-year-old Subash Kalauni and Devraj Bhatta, 26, were also injured in the attack. They have been medevaced for further treatment.

Of the two, Bhatta is in a critical condition, police said.

The reason behind the attack is still unknown. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
