The All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) on Tuesday honoured national team midfielder Raju Tamang with Rs2.5 million. The football governing body annually honours footballers for their contribution to the game.
Prime Minister KP Oli handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 million to Tamang amidst a programme organised to felicitate the national football teams that won the Bangabandhu Gold Cup and South Asian Games gold.
Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) footballer Tamang made his debut for the national team in 2005 with the match against Bangladesh and has won 44 international caps. Before plying trades with TAC, Tamang also played for Three Star Club and Friends Club in domestic football.
