Guwahati
Nepal on Friday were assured of winning at least a bronze medal in women's field hockey after only three teams entered the draw in the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati, India.
The women's hockey was included in the regional games for the first time and only hosts India, Sri Lanka and Nepal took part in the event.
Nepal arrived here after eight-day training camp in Manipur. "India are too strong in world hockey, so will try to put in our best effort against Sri Lanka in our bid to clinch silver," said coach Baburam Nepal. Nepal opted out of the men's event due to budget crunch.
