Nepal have made a bright start in the AFC U-16 Championship Group 'B' Qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan defeating a strong Jordan side 2-1 in their inaugural match in Bishkek on Wednesday.
Rejin Subba scored both goals for Nepal who survived the nervy final moments after Jordan replied with a goal in the first minute of the three-minute added on time. Goalkeeper Arpan Karki made some crucial saves in the final minutes to hand Nepal a big victory.
Subba gave Nepal an early 28th minute lead before doubling the tally in the 66th. Nepal will now take on Kyrgyzstan on Friday. The winners of the tournament will qualify for the 2017 AFC U-16 Championship to be held in India.
