ANLTA bids farewell to Asiad players
The All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (Anlta) on Saturday bade farewell to the tennis players leaving for Incheon, South Korea for the 17th Asian Games.
A total of 12 players have been selected for Asian Games beginning from September 19 to October 4. Jitendra Pariyar, Abhishek Bastola, Santosh Karki, Samrakshhyak Bhushan Bajracharya, Dawa Sonam Sherpa and Sakshyam Karki will compete in the men’s section.
The female players include Mahika Rana, Bibhuti Karki, Anne Mathema, Mayanka Rana, Ira Raut and Bijisha Shrestha. The Nepali players will compete in the singles, doubles, mixed doubles and team event. Pariyar, Bastola, Rana and Karki are departing for the Games on Sunday, while rest of the team will leave on September 17.
Surya Bhushan Bajracharya is the team coach. The tennis events will begin from Sept 20. Anlta vice-president Jyoti Rana and general secretary Manohar Das Mul will accompany the team as officials. National Sports Council Vice-president Lama Tendi Sherpa and Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama bade farewell to players.
