Two people were killed and three others injured after a tree fell on a roadside shelter at Charpala in ward 7 of Sunwal Municipality, Nawalparasi West, on Friday afternoon. According to Deputy Superintendent Bir Dutta Panta of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi West, the deceased have been identified as Meera Bayambu, 30, and Durga Bahadur Pun, 40. The victims were taking refuge from strong winds when a tree collapsed on the bus shelter, trapping them underneath. Locals Narmati Pariyar, Anil Thapa and Durgeshwara Khamcha Magar sustained injuries. They are undergoing treatment at Devdaha Medical College in Rupandehi.
