At least 35 people have fallen ill after consuming tainted meat in Sandhikharka, Arghakhanchi district.
On Monday, 25 people became sick after eating meat served as prasad [religious offering] at the home of Deepak KC, brought from Deurali Temple on Sunday. Ten more people reported symptoms on Tuesday.
According to Dr Jagannath Tiwari of Arghakhanchi Hospital, the patients have shown symptoms, including fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, and body pain, attributed to food poisoning. Though all are in stable condition, fever and diarrhoea persist.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Malla.
