An unidentified body was found along the Geruwa river bank, a major offshoot of the Karnali river, on Wednesday. The body was discovered near the Gola Gaddi settlement in ward 4 of Geruwa Rural Municipality, Bardiya.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tulsi Ram Aryal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Bardiya, said the deceased appears to be a man aged between 35 and 40. The face is severely decomposed and unrecognisable.

The body was found face down and unclothed and has been sent to the mortuary at Bardiya District Hospital.
