Police have arrested a man on the charge of allegedly murdering his wife in Lamahi, Dang.
Shyam Kumar Kumal of ward 9 of Lamahi Municipality has been detained on charge of killing his 42-year-old wife, Ishwari Kumal, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ram Prasad Timilsina, spokesperson for District Police Office, Dang.
On Wednesday morning, the couple, who were intoxicated, got into an argument while returning home from Hattikhola. Shyam Kumar allegedly hit his wife in her private parts with a stick, dragged her by the hair, and killed her on the road, police said. He then abandoned her body on the road, police accused.
DSP Timilsina said the district court remanded the man in custody for seven days for further investigation.
