A fire destroyed a house and shed belonging to Mukta Bahadur Basnet in Prasenipur in ward 6 of Geruwa Rural Municipality at around 2 am on Sunday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tilakram Aryal of the District Police Office, the fire killed 15 farm animals in the shed, including two cattle and five goats.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and it took several hours for the locals and police to control the fire.
It has been estimated that the fire destroyed property and domestic animals worth Rs 1 million, said Aryal.
