Transportation along the Panchase-Patihalna section of the Mid-hill Highway has resumed nearly after three months of obstruction caused by incessant snowfall.
The road became operational after the construction company contracted to upgrade the road stretch cleared the snow on Tuesday.

The shortest route to connect the district with Kathmandu had been blocked since the last week of December. With the disruption of the Panchase-Patihalna stretch, locals had to travel 200 km more than the usual distance to reach Kathmandu via Rapti Highway.  Ramsur Budha Magar, chief of Bhume Rural Municipality, said the local people of Rukumkot and surrounding areas were greatly affected with the road closure. Transportation resumed along the route from Wednesday, he added.
