At least five dead as bus plunges into Tamakoshi river in Ramechhap

A passenger bus operated by Araniko Yatayat, travelling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga, fell into the Tamakoshi river near Lilauti in ward 6 of Manthali Municipality in Ramechhap on Tuesday, killing at least five people.
Police Inspector Rajan Prasad Timilsina of the District Police Office, Ramechhap, confirmed that five bodies, including the bus owner, have been recovered.
Residents, security personnel, and rescue teams are helping evacuate the injured. So far, three people have been rescued and sent for treatment.
Efforts to recover others trapped in the bus continue. Police said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
