Two people were killed and three injured on Friday afternoon after a landslide brought down a sal tree (Shorea robusta) in Bastipur, Sindhuli, police said.
The victims were under a stilted platform when the tree fell, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Prakash Subedi.
The deceased are Shanta Gole, 16, and Sarki Thing.
Subedi said two injured people were sent to Hetauda for further treatment after receiving first aid, while one was treated at a local health facility.
