Two people died by electrocution in Masuriya of Rapti Municipality-3 on Saturday afternoon.
Local Dila KC, 47, and her five-year-old grandson were killed after being electrocuted by a broken electric wire.
Dila’s 68-year-old husband Gorkha Bahadur KC was also injured in the incident. He has been sent to Butwal for treatment, said Municipality chair Prakash Bista.
According to Nepal Electricity Authority’s engineer Kamal Pun, strong winds had caused the utility lines to break causing the incident.
The five-year-old was electrocuted after coming in contact with the live wire. His grandmother was killed while his grandfather was injured as he attempted to save the kid, said Karma KC, the child’s father.
