An Indian national identified as Gopal Giri of Uttar Pradesh was arrested with around three kilogrammes of hashish.
Acting on a tip-off, police personnel detained Giri, aged 42, from Chhapkaiya in ward 2 of Birgunj Metropolitan City on Tuesday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Bharati, the suspect was apprehended in possession of 2.960 kg of hashish packed in plastic bags.
A detailed investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
