Police have arrested two inmates who escaped from Jhumka Prison during the Gen Z protests on September 9.
A joint plainclothes team from the Area Police Office Kakarbhitta and the District Police Office, Jhapa, detained Madan Pokharel, 52, and Uttam Thakuri, 58. Both were serving sentences in a revenue evasion case.
According to Jhapa police, the pair were arrested from their homes, where they had been hiding. Police said preparations are underway to return them to the concerned prison for legal action.
