Forest fire entered the human settlement at Ratmate in ward 1 of Tumbewa Rural Municipality on Monday, destroying one house and two animal sheds. 

According to Khadga Bahadur Sambahamphe, vice chairman of the local unit, the incident happened at around 2pm. 

“There was no human casualty as the house belonging to Partha Bahadur Budhathok was empty. Three pigs of Sahar Singh Tamang were charred to death in the incident,” said Sambahamphe. 

Security personnel and local residents managed to bring the fire under control after a while following the incident.
