A woman died in a house fire in Lekgaun of the Panchthar district on Wednesday.

A 55-year-old woman was killed after a fire broke out in her kitchen at around 7am, said Milan Thapa, information officer at the district police.

According to the police, the victim died after the roof caved in on her.

The body was recovered from under the debris by the police after the fire was put out around 9:30am by the police and the locals.
