Atleast one person died and 13 others were injured in a road accident in Phidim Municipality-2 on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Khatiwada, a 35-year-old man was killed in the accident, involving a jeep that was headed towards Taplejung from Birtamode, at around 1pm on Tuesday.

The victim is yet to be identified, police said.

Among the 13 injured, two have sustained serious injuries, said police. The duo have been taken to Jhapa for treatment.
