A young man and a woman have been found dead in a tea garden in Jhapa.
Police have identified the deceased as 25-year-old Rajesh Kumar Ganesh and 18-year-old Pavitra Kumari Rajbanshi, both residents of Kanchankawal Rural Municipality in the district.
The deceased duo were found hanging in a tree at the Everest Tea Garden located in Kachankawal-4.
The police said that an investigation is underway regarding the incident.
According to the locals, the duo had eloped and married some three months ago after Rajesh was rejected by Pavitra’s family.
Neighbors of the deceased said that following their marriage, Rajesh’s family had been trying to separate them.
