Two workers were killed after a landslide struck a road construction site at the under-construction Super Seti Hydropower Project in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-1 of Kaski district on Saturday.

The victims were identified as 26-year-old Ayush Rai of Pakhribas Municipality-8, Dhankuta, and 27-year-old Kisan Rai of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-1, Khotang, police said. Both died while receiving treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.

Another worker, 32-year-old Bhakta Bahadur Magar of Ilam, sustained a knee injury in the incident. His condition is reported to be normal.

The landslide occurred at around 11 am while workers were digging a road at the project site. Local residents rescued the injured workers and took them to the hospital.
