The British College and the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) have signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly organise the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on July 7 by Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of The Kandel Group and The British College, and Chiranjibi Adhikari, acting president of CAN Federation and founder and CEO of One Cover Private Limited.
Under the agreement, The British College, the national organiser of the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026, and CAN Federation, the strategic organising partner, will jointly conduct provincial-level competitions, expand nationwide outreach, engage mentors and investors, and organise the national finale.
According to the organisers, the partnership aims to identify and support promising Nepali startups while connecting them with international opportunities through the Startup World Cup platform.
Kandel said the partnership would provide startups with greater access to mentorship, investment opportunities and international exposure.
Adhikari said the collaboration would strengthen Nepal's startup ecosystem by encouraging innovation and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with industry leaders, investors and global platforms.
The Startup World Cup is organised globally by Pegasus Tech Ventures and features more than 100 regional competitions across over 60 countries. The winner of the Nepal chapter will represent the country at the global grand finale in Silicon Valley, where startups compete for the opportunity to secure a US$1 million investment prize, subject to the competition's official terms and conditions.
The organisers said the partnership reflects their shared commitment to supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and the growth of Nepal's startup ecosystem.
