Prime Minister Karki briefs President Paudel on election preparedness
National Security Council reviews arrangements, says all measures are in place for a peaceful election.Post Report
Prime Minister Sushila Karki met President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday and briefed him on the latest political developments and preparations for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
In a meeting held at the President’s Office in Sheetal Niwas, the prime minister briefed the head of state on contemporary politics and the elections of the lower house, the Personal Secretariat of the President said.
Earlier, the meeting of the National Security Council (NSC), chaired by Prime Minister Karki, held at Singha Durbar, reviewed the election security arrangements and concluded that all necessary security arrangements are in place for the election.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Finance Minister Rameshwore Khanal, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari, along with the Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal and Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, attended the NSC meeting on Thursday.
