Printing of ballot papers enters final stage

Printing of ballots for the House of Representatives elections has entered its final stage, with Janak Education Material Centre set to complete the remaining 500,000 ballots on Monday.
Acting Managing Director Yadunath Paudel said the final batch for the first-past-the-post elections would be finished by evening. “Out of 20.3 million direct election ballots, 500,000 remain. We began printing with a 42-day schedule and will complete it in 40 days,” he said.
After printing, all ballots will be packed and dispatched to the districts by tomorrow. The centre has already printed and delivered 1 million ballots to the Election Commission.
Printing and packing of 2.083 million proportional representation ballots are also underway, with distribution to districts in progress. Paudel said all ballots have reached Karnali and Sudurpashchim, and the remaining ballots will be delivered to other regions by February 24.
