Prime Minister Karki takes stock of election preparations with Election Commission

Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Friday took an update from the Election Commission (EC) on preparations for the upcoming elections.
The prime minister held discussions with EC commissioners and other senior officials at her official residence in Baluwatar, where she was briefed on the progress of election-related work, the prime minister’s secretariat said.
Preparations to enforce the election code of conduct were also discussed during the meeting.
Those present included Finance Minister Rameshwore Prasad Khanal, Law Minister Anil Kumar Sinha, Education Minister Mahabir Pun, and chief secretary Suman Raj Aryal.
From the Election Commission, acting chief election commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, commissioners Janaki Tuladhar and Sagun Shamsher Jabara, secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The National Assembly election is scheduled for January 25, while the House of Representatives election will be held on March 5.
