Three dead, six injured in Solukhumbu jeep crash

Three people were killed when a jeep met with an accident in Solukhumbu on Thursday evening.
The jeep, travelling to Mahakulung Rural Municipality from Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality, skidded off the road and plunged about 400 metres at Bhirkuna, the border area between wards 6 and 7 of Mapya Dudhkoshi, said chair of ward 7 Sagujit Rai.
Six others, including the driver, were injured in the crash. The jeep had been returning after picking up passengers from Mapya to Mahakulung, Rai said.
According to the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the identities of the deceased have not yet been established as the incident occurred at night. The injured have been taken to Waku Hospital for treatment.
