Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh held a bilateral meeting in Tianjin, China, on Sunday on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two prime ministers discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on further strengthening the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Nepal and Vietnam.
The meeting comes as both nations seek to build on their existing partnership and explore new areas of collaboration.
Nepal and Vietnam have long cooperated at international forums such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77, supporting each other’s global priorities.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan of Vietnam visited Nepal earlier this month.
It was the first-ever visit at this level from Vietnam to Nepal as the year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
