The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (ASOCHAMUP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen trade, investment, and cross-border economic engagement between Nepal and India.
The MoU was signed in Kathmandu on Monday by NICCI President Sunil KC and ASOCHAMUP President D. P. Singh.
The agreement seeks to institutionalise cooperation between the two chambers through regular exchange of business delegations, joint promotional events, and information sharing, NICCI said in a statement.
Both organisations agreed to facilitate reciprocal participation in trade missions, investment forums, fairs, and exhibitions held in their respective countries. NICCI will act as ASOCHAMUP’s exclusive partner in Nepal, while ASOCHAMUP will serve as NICCI’s exclusive state-level partner in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
“This partnership will also include joint studies, market surveys, and publication exchanges focused on identifying emerging areas of mutual economic interest,” said NICCI President Sunil KC.
ASOCHAMUP President Singh added that the two sides would regularly share non-confidential publications and data relevant to trade and investment prospects.
Both chambers reaffirmed their commitment to expand bilateral trade, support member initiatives, and address cross-border business challenges under this new collaboration.
