The private sector has been able to generate that amount of power in just 25 years of entering energy production, according to the statement. So far, the private sector has mobilised investment exceeding Rs1,300 billion and is looking to invest Rs5,000 billion, it said.
Private sector-led projects with a capacity of 4,200 MW are under construction, while projects with a capacity of 4,100 MW await financial management after completing power purchase agreements (PPAs).
