A road accident in Solukhumbu district claimed one life and left three others injured on Tuesday morning.

The accident took place when a passenger auto-rickshaw travelling from district headquarters Salleri to Okhaldhunga went out of control and fell approximately 150 metres down the road at Baghkhor in Solududhkunda Municipality-8.

The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Lakpa Sherpa, a resident of Molung Rural Municipality-8 in Okhaldhunga district, who died at the scene, confirmed Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kunwar of Solukhumbu District Police Office.

The accident occurred around 11:30 am. The injured include the vehicle driver Rajesh BK (38), Kaji BK (40) and Mingmar Sherpa.

All injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Phaplu, the police said.
