Two people died after the motorcycle they were riding collided with the rear of a tractor on the Hulaki Highway in Malekpur, Saptari district, on Saturday afternoon.
According to Superintendent of Police Dhakendra Khatiwada, chief of the District Police Office, Saptari, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
When a brick-loaded tractor was travelling towards Rajbiraj from Patthargadha was hit from behind by a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
Three people on the motorcycle were injured and rushed to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for treatment.
SP Khatiwada said one man, believed to be around 26–27 years old, died on the way to the hospital, while another, aged around 22–23, died shortly after arrival.
The third rider is undergoing treatment and remains in serious condition, the police said.
