A 46-year-old man, Thamabahadur Roka from Mangala Rural Municipality-6, has died in a road accident at Chutreti in Beni Municipality-6. The accident occurred when the motorbike Roka was riding collided with a truck.
Prem Shahi, a resident of Mangalghat in Beni Municipality-7, who was riding pillion, was severely injured in the crash.
Locals reported that both individuals were initially taken to Beni Hospital for treatment. However, due to a lack of sufficient facilities, they were transferred to Pokhara later that night. Unfortunately, Roka succumbed to his injuries at a medical college in Pokhara, while Shahi is still receiving treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital.
The two were travelling from Tatopani when the accident occurred. The truck, which was headed from Beni to Tatopani, collided with their motorbike. According to Inspector Sagar Poudel, the truck driver, Khime Darji, a resident of Beni Municipality-5, is currently in police custody.
